Christopher North, the founding keyboardist of Ambrosia, has passed away at the age of 75, leaving behind a lasting legacy in progressive and soft rock.
The band shared the news in a heartfelt tribute, describing him as the “Hammond B3 King” and honoring the unmistakable sound and creativity that helped define their music. His contributions shaped not only the band’s identity but also an entire era of melodic rock.
As a founding member alongside David Pack, Joe Puerta, and Burleigh Drummond, North played a central role in building the group’s signature style. His keyboard work became a cornerstone of their sound, blending technical skill with emotional depth.
