The Trump administration has unveiled plans for a 250-foot-tall “Arc De Trump” to be built in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. is set to receive a new monument. On Friday, the Trump administration unveiled updated plans for a 250-foot-tall triumphal arch.

The proposed structure—referred to as the “Arc de Trump,” a nod to Paris’s Arc de Triomphe it aims to emulate—would place Donald Trump among memorialized U.S. presidents such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson with a permanent monument in the nation’s capital.

The plans were first presented in October of last year. At the time, Trump told donors while displaying a model of the Arc de Trump, “Every time somebody rides over that beautiful bridge to the Lincoln Memorial, they literally say something is supposed to be here. We have versions of it… This is a mock-up.”

One concept included marble eagles and a central golden statue of Lady Liberty. The design would reportedly be larger than the Lincoln Memorial.

“This would be small, medium, and large… I happen to think the large by far looks the best,” Trump said, according to Time.

The newly submitted proposal, reviewed by a board consisting of Trump-appointed members following the dismissal of six previous commissioners, includes additional design details.

According to the plans, the structure would rise 250 feet and feature a 60-foot gold statue of Lady Liberty at its peak—making it approximately 20 feet taller than the U.S. Capitol.

Architects at Harrison Design also included bold inscriptions reading “One Nation Under God,” along with two golden lions positioned at the base of the monument.

The announcement comes amid broader proposals from Donald Trump to reshape parts of Washington, D.C., including earlier plans for a large ballroom at the former East Wing site.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump said, “This will be a wonderful addition to the Washington DC area for all Americans to enjoy for many decades to come!”

The project has already sparked debate, with critics questioning the scale and symbolism of the proposed monument.
