Kirk, seated near President Donald Trump and other senior officials at the Washington Hilton ballroom, was overheard repeatedly saying, “I want to go,” as she was escorted through crowded corridors by security personnel in suits.
The emotional footage, shared by @rawsalerts, shows the conservative leader in a sparkling gown appearing visibly shaken, with tears on her face as she clutches her purse and is guided away from the unfolding chaos.
The incident occurred shortly after reports of suspected gunshots or loud bangs triggered a rapid evacuation of President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other attendees. Secret Service agents drew their weapons and moved to secure the area as guests were instructed to take cover.
A suspect was reportedly neutralized near the venue’s metal detectors. No injuries were reported among attendees or protectees, and the Secret Service later confirmed that all officials were safe. The annual black-tie event was subsequently canceled.
Kirk, 37, now serves as chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA following the death of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, in September 2025.
In recent months, she has faced increased security concerns, including the cancellation of a TPUSA event with JD Vance due to threats deemed too serious to proceed. Witnesses described the evening as deeply distressing for Kirk, who has been balancing public leadership responsibilities with personal loss and raising young children.
