Donald Trump said the United States has eliminated what he described as “the world’s most active terrorist” in a recent military operation.

Donald Trump said in a brief late-night post that the United States had killed Abu Bakr al-Mainuki, whom he described as “the world’s most active terrorist,” in a targeted military operation.

The strike, reportedly carried out by US and Nigerian forces in the Lake Chad Basin, is said to have dismantled a key Islamic State West Africa Province network, killing Mainuki and several of his associates without allied casualties. Nigerian officials praised the operation as evidence of growing intelligence and military cooperation built up over months of planning.

Despite the operational success, analysts note that the broader ISIS network in the region remains resilient, with continued recruitment driven by instability and local grievances across parts of West Africa.
