Over a devastating weekend, Harley Andrews’ life—and his family’s world—fell apart. The 16-year-old, known for being active and passionate about football and rugby, had initially sought medical advice after feeling unwell and was reassured his symptoms were likely just “growing pains.” He tried to carry on, trusting what he was told.
But by the time he was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital, the reality was far more severe. He was diagnosed with stage four leukemia that had already spread to his brain and organs, leading to catastrophic internal bleeding that could not be controlled.
His family had barely begun to process the diagnosis when tragedy struck. By the early hours of the following morning, Harley had died.
Friends remember him as a bright, energetic teenager whose smile lifted everyone around him, and a devoted big brother of six who was deeply loved. In the aftermath, his community has come together through a GoFundMe to support his family and ensure he is given a dignified farewell, while also honoring a life that ended far too soon.
