A star has passed. With heavy hearts, we share the news of their passing.

Pamela Salem, widely known for her role as Samantha in EastEnders, has died at the age of 80. She also earned lasting recognition for her appearances in Doctor Who, where she became a fan favorite and received widespread praise from both viewers and colleagues, many of whom have since shared tributes following news of her passing.

Born in India in 1944, Salem studied at the University of Heidelberg before completing her training at the Central School of Drama. She went on to enjoy a long and accomplished career in theatre, television, and film, performing in works by Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Pinter. On screen, she is also remembered for her role as Miss Moneypenny in Never Say Never Again, starring alongside Sean Connery. In addition, she contributed extensively to audio productions with Big Finish Productions.

Salem passed away at her home in Surfside, Florida. Big Finish producer David Richardson confirmed the news, describing her as warm, generous, and deeply kind. He recalled her frequent solo trips from Miami for recording sessions, noting that she always arrived with enthusiasm, kindness, and thoughtful gestures for those she worked with.

Those who knew and worked with her have described her as a dedicated and caring professional, someone who valued everyone on set—from fellow actors to behind-the-scenes crew. Her work across decades has left a lasting legacy in both television and audio drama, remembered fondly by audiences and collaborators alike.
