‘Game of Thrones’ actor Michael Patrick dead at 35

Born in Belfast, Michael Patrick’s influence stretched far beyond a single city or stage. Educated at Cambridge and London’s Mountview Academy, he brought Shakespeare to life with the Royal Shakespeare Company and later entered the harsh world of Game of Thrones. Even after being diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease in February 2023, he continued to pursue his passion, appearing in Blue Lights, This Town, and delivering a powerful performance as Richard III in Belfast.

Just ten days before his passing, he was told he had a year left to live. His response was resolute—there was still so much ahead of him, so much he wanted to do. His wife, Naomi, remembered him as a man of immense strength, humor, and warmth, sharing his favorite Brendan Behan sentiment: eat, drink, and love. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by those closest to him, leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, artistry, and an enduring zest for life.
