He grew up feeling weak, overlooked, and invisible — the kind of kid no one expected much from, not teachers, not neighbors, and not even himself. Bullied at school and raised in a fractured home, confidence wasn’t something he had the chance to build.
Born into poverty and instability, with a father struggling with alcoholism, his early life felt more like chaos than comfort. When his parents separated and he moved to California, things changed on the surface, but the sense of emptiness stayed.
After high school, without clear direction or confidence, he enlisted in the Air Force — not out of ambition, but because he felt he had nowhere else to go.
